Most
Important Information Students Are Typically Unaware of About Health
Services
1)
We exist,
all matriculated students can make use of our services, and we are
located
on the second floor of the Campus Center.
2)
All services
are confidential (from Rutgers, parents, friends, etc.).
3)
With “Basic
Student Health Insurance” (paid for if full time, affordable semester
fee
if part time), appointments with all of our health providers are at no
additional cost (physician, nurse practitioners, psychological and
alcohol/drug/nicotine
counseling).
4)
We provide
supplemental health insurance – especially important for students who
have
limited, or lack health insurance. Health insurance is also available
for
spouses, domestic partners, and children.
5)
We provide
all the medical services you would find at an outpatient clinic, or by
a general practitioner, including making appropriate referrals if
needed.
6)
We are
not an emergency response medical unit. If you have a medical
emergency,
you should call 911 or campus police.
7)
Clinical
services are provided to students by appointment.
8)
First
year students need to complete immunization requirements by the end of
their first semester on campus. (A hold will be placed on their grades
if this is not completed)
9)
Our campus
web page is invaluable in providing important information about health
services, and student health in general.
10) For
students
with a personal or professional interest in the health field, we train
student “health advocates” to participate in campus/community health
programming. |
