Is Eligible To Use Rutgers University Health Services?
ALL STUDENTS are eligible
to use
Rutgers University Health Services if they have paid for student
health insurance (called the "Health Services Plus Plan").
Full-time Students: Undergraduate students registered for 12 or more credits and
graduate students registered for 9 credits (except MBA and Law students
who require 12 credits) are entitled to
use the Health Service since their student fee has paid for the "Health Services Plus Plan" student health insurance.
Part-time students must enroll in the "Health Services Plus Plan" student health insurance before
becoming
eligible to receive medical care at Rutgers University Health
Services.
Summer School: The
following chart shows student eligibility for "Health Services Plus Plan"student health
insurance,
and use of Rutgers University Health Services during Summer School:

Supplemental Insurance: Rutgers University recommends that all students have
comprehensive
health insurance. In addition to "Health Services Plus Plan" student insurance,
Rutgers
University offers the following supplemental health insurance
coverage:
More Comprehensive
Emergency / Hospital
Care. Major Medical policies are available with levels of coverage at
$100,000
or $250,000.
Spouse and Dependent
Children: Insurance benefits are available for spouses
and dependent
children.
All students and dependents who are insured by the "Health Services Plus Plan"coverage are
eligible
to purchase major medical insurance as well. On-campus medical services
are for the use of enrolled students and spouses only. The staff will
help
students find medical services in the community for child dependents. See the insurance plan web site at www.chickering.com.
Sole Domestic Partners: In the event that a student wishes to enroll their sole
domestic partner
in the insurance plan, verification is required. Enrollment and
affidavit
forms are available at the student Insurance Office. The "Health Services Plus Plan" and supplemental
insurance
are available for purchase on line only at www.chickering.com.
